About Us

Who We Are

Southampton Volunteer Ambulance (SVA) is a not-for-profit emergency medical service agency dedicated to delivering high-quality prehospital care to residents and visitors of the Southampton Ambulance District. Founded in 1988, SVA operates as a combination department—comprised of both paid and volunteer EMTs and paramedics—working together around the clock to respond to emergencies with professionalism, compassion, and skill.

Our mission is to provide emergency medical services at the highest possible levels of safety and care, with a strong focus on patient well-being, operational excellence, and community trust. Through a steadfast commitment to our vision and values, we aim to be a forward-thinking organization known for being patient-driven, team-focused, continually improving, and fiscally response.

What We Do

Southampton Volunteer Ambulance proudly provides critical emergency medical services to the Southampton community and surrounding areas. We respond to 911 calls for medical emergencies, deliver advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) care, and transport patients to area hospitals with professionalism and compassion.

Our agency also plays an essential role in regional emergency preparedness through mutual aid response—assisting neighboring departments when additional EMS resources are needed. In addition, we regularly provide standby EMS coverage for public events, school functions, parades, and other large gatherings to ensure public safety and rapid medical intervention when needed.

All of our responders are certified by the New York State Department of Health and credentialed in Suffolk County. They are trained to operate under strict protocols set forth by Suffolk County REMSCO/REMAC, as well as by SVA’s own Standard Operating Guidelines, ensuring high standards of care, accountability, and patient advocacy in every responseible.

Southampton Volunteer Ambulance is a non-profit community service organization providing emergency patient care to Southampton Township.
